Being a Forest School Leader requires a basic level of competency across a range of outdoors skills, which it is our responsibility to demonstrate, safely, in front of our clients. We are also tasked with passing on basic skills to our clients, in the interest of keeping outdoors traditions alive, giving them a sense of purposefulness, resourcefulness, resilience and ability.

This section of the website covers the essential skills of the Forest School Portfolio: Practical Skills, but goes beyond the basics. Leaders engaged in lifelong learning should strive to broaden their skill base and increase their competency.
